Frequently Asked Questions

How Do I Submit A Bracket?

Start by heading over to our "Bracket" page. The bracket is comprised of four regions, and you fill out the entry by point-and-click -- every round carries your selection forward, so continue clicking until you have a champion in the center. You must also fill out the tie-breaker, which is "Total Points in the Finals" (i.e. Kansas 72, UNC 69 = 141 points)

The bracket will not submit until everything is filled out, and will highlight any missing selections in red, so don't worry about missing something in your entry. You will be redirected to a confirmation page once your order is sucessfully submitted. If you select a password for your entry, you can now edit your picks as well!

All brackets must be paid for ($25 per entry) by the tipoff of the first game. All unpaid entries will be marked void when the contest begins and picks lock. If for whatever reason you pay for an entry and fail to complete a bracket, a full refund will be issued

Can I Edit My Bracket Once Submitted?

YES! We listened to your feedback, and now if you enter a password when filling out your bracket... you can "Edit Picks" (using the link in the "Picks" menu) right up until tipoff of the first game!

Alternatively, I am happy to adjust individual picks in the backend if you use the Contact Form below. Please ensure that your email is postmarked before tipoff of the first game of the contest, and your changes will be valid -- all entries will be locked once the first game begins.

How Do I Pay For An Entry?

I accept payment via Venmo or PayPal (please ensure this is a friends & family transaction to avoid PayPal's standard fee). Payment details are available on our email listserv, or by request - I do not post this information online to avoid spam.

All payments must be received by tipoff of the first game, or entries will be marked void.

NOTE: Please do not include any details pertaining to March Madness in the comments

How Do Payouts Work?

All prize payouts will be sent promptly when the contest ends. I default to paying via the same method in which entry fees were received, unless otherwise requested by the winner.

Are There Any Fees Involved?

NO! JR's "World Famous" March Madness Pool is, and always was, 100% not-for-profit. Every $25 entry fee is redistributed fully into the prize pool - you can calculate this yourself from my "Update #1" email with finalized prize information. This pool is 100% free and paramutual.

Is The Bracket Open To The Public?

While this contest is technically open for everyone to participate, my goal is to expand the audience as much as possible, while maintaining a relatively controlled environment that is primarily made up of friends & family. I appreciate those that spread the word, as we look to continue to grow the field of players each year.

Put simply... if you're reading this, welcome aboard!
